Sacramento RT Light Rail

Sacramento RT Light Rail serves 45 stations on about 37 miles of track. The service runs on mostly exclusive right-of-way except for some areas of downtown. In the third quarter of 2010, RT Light Rail’s two lines averaged a combined 44,400 boardings each weekday.

RT uses high-floor LRVs manufactured by Siemens. Regular adult fare is $2.50, and is good for two hours from the time of purchase or validation. Passengers must present proof-of-payment if asked by a fare inspector.

Extensions of the system are currently being planned to the Sacramento International Airport and southward to Cosumes River College.
